For Boeing Boeing, I was given the opportunity to work with some of Dallas’ leading community theatre actors and directors. While I knew that I would not be “constructing” the pieces, I still went through my research and design process to come up with each character’s “vibe.”

Unlike past productions I’d seen which leaned heavily on identical air hostess suits in primary colors, I wanted to incorporate signature elements and silhouettes from each airline and their uniform designers. I was also excited to work with actors who did not resemble the American, Italian, German and French characters they would be playing.

Challenges during this production included a massive heat wave, a lead actor that had to be replaced, a cast member with body image sensitivities and fabric allergies.
