Behind the Scenes…
A student profile featuring Vivian’s work as a costume technician and assistant designer for Otterbein’s 2026 production of Rogers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella.
Filmed and edited by Marina Gaskill (‘27)..
I think going into theatre, I always like to say, my Texas Thespians education was one of the biggest things that like pushed me into it.
Clothing and creating a character has always really been a part of me.
There's such a difference between “I am doing this thing” and then there's “I HAVE to do this thing.”
This propels me in such a way and it's so interwoven into everything I do.
I don’t ever NOT think about costumes.
The “Cinderella” transformation dresses…cause there's more than one... have been really fun and also kind of an engineering feat.
You have an idea in your head but then you start putting the pieces together and it's like either it works, it doesn't work.
Then, we factor in costume changes and as we're all student wardrobe people, it's kind of like “how do you make it as easy as possible for people?”
